Editing Process

Editing Software ?
I have decided to use Final Cut Pro as my main editing software and Motion to create 2D and 3D cinematic titles, transition and introductions.

Final Cut Pro

The screenshot below shows the project timeline where I put a text overlay at the beginning of the  opening.

Also, in the screenshot below shows color grading of the footage so that the opening looks a bit darker which matches the main theme "Thriller".

Motion

The screenshot below shows multiple layers of 2D moving element held together to create a 2D motion transition effect for the introduction of "Linear Production"

Location

Why ?

I have scout the location near my house. The location we have chosen is my clubhouse which is very quiet and looks like a suburban road. This fits our scene very well since we are trading illegal.
Also, there is gardener car parked there which we can use in the film. There is also a digger which we can also use to make it feel more suburban or on a construction site.

Location
  • Ohm's Clubhouse
Lighting
  • Well lit in most location.
  • A lot of shadow in some location which we can use as a scene that looks line in a wood.
Health and Safety of the location
  • Closest hospital is 10 km away from the location we chose

Conversation in Thrillers

Analysis of Training Diner Scene

Alonzo is a very powerful man from this scene set in the diner. He sat down waiting for Jake to arrive and when Jake arrived, he asked Jake to tell a story and Jake followed his request. Also, Alonzo open his arms and put them on the wall seat showing confident in term of body language whereas, Jake has shown less confident than him so he felt a bit nervous during the talk. The scene where Alonzo and Jake walked across the road shows by the positioning where Jake followed Alonzo from behind that Jake respects Alonzo

The film uses varieties of camera angles such as over the shoulder shot during the talk in the diner, panning shot when they are walking across the road to Alonzo's car. Low angle close-up shot is also used in the diner scene to show facial expression of both characters.
